Donate to the Injured Workers Support Network

How can you donate?

The IWSN uses Givenow.com.au to accept donations. We use this website for three main reasons:

1. The donation you make comes directly to us (minus any fees your bank may charge). Givenow.com.au does not charge the IWSN to take donations.

2. We do not hold your credit card details. This prevents the possibility of them being stolen through our system.

3. Givenow.com.au is backed by Westpac Bank. This give us and you security.

You will need to register with Givenow.com.au to make a donation to the IWSN.  you can join here: givenow,com.au- join

What is GiveNow?

GiveNow is Australia’s only free online donations solution for community organisations. It is offered free to any registered community group in Australia, regardless of size, purpose or tax status – as long as they meet state fundraising requirements.

Community groups register with GiveNow and donors can donate directly to the community group of their choice. GiveNow charges no commissions or fees. We pass on 100% of the donation to the nominated group with the only fee being the credit card merchant fees.

GiveNow is an initiative of the Our Community Foundation, a not-for-profit program established through the generous financial support of Our Community. Our Community is a privately held enterprise that provides a number of business and community services, some of them free, some of them paid, many of them discounted for community organisations.

This commission-free online donations service is part of Our Community’s mission to democratise giving in Australia – ensuring that even the smallest community groups have the same access to safe, secure online donations technology as the largest groups. It is our belief that these small, grassroots community groups are every bit as important to community life as the larger ones. Australian community organisations are the back-bone of our society and deserve to be supported with professional and accessible services.

You can find out more about givenow.com.au through their Frequently Asked Questions page.

What if there is a problem?

The IWSN is a client of givenow.com.au so you will need to talk to them if you do experience an issue with your donation.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes. The Injured Workers Support Network is a registered charity under the Industrial Health & Research Foundation (charity ABN 50804045194).

What will my donation be used for?

All money collected is used for the work of the Injured Workers Support Network. This includes but isn't limited to:

  • Room hire for meetings.
  • Publishing costs for brochures etc..
  • Office, telephone & website costs.
  • Staff costs.

Approximately 70% of the current overall IWSN budget is staffing costs (the wage, insurance and resourcing of the IWSN coordinator).  This is paid for by the Workers Health Centre the not-for-profit rehabilitation provider in the NSW Workers Compensation System. It is hoped that your donation will assist us to expand the current services of the IWSN to meet the demand for individual support and campaign more effectively against the unfair treatment of people injured at work.

Can I donate to a particular cause or local network?

At the moment no, the money goes into a general pool and is allocated as needed. Givenow.com.au does have a facility to allocate money for a particular cause if and when we hold them through a "go fund me" site which we will use at some point in the future.
