Can WorkCover NSW send me to the Neurosurgeon who preformed three unsuccessful operations on my cervical spine for a Independent Medical Examination for a Whole Person Impairment assessment. I don’t see how my operating surgeon could “Independent “. I can’t imagine my surgeon or any doctor for that matter, admitting that his surgery was unsuccessful and in fact made the patient (me) almost a cripple. I look forward to hearing from you.

    • It might possibly be a conflict of interest for a surgeon who performed an operation on you to assess your WPI. I would recommend talking to your insurer and if they cant give you a choice of three (which they should be doing anyway) they should at least send you to someone who doesn’t’ have that same conflict.
